Coffee all day. Ordered some Chinese food (delivered), and kept on working. Why is it that, when I order Chinese, I only want crap? My parents owned a number of restaurants when I was a kid, and continue to run one now. The current restaurant, Yummy’s (I hated the name at first), aims at actual, authentic food. But when I want Chinese food, I order all the Americanized stuff. Egg Foo Young? Moo Goo Gai Pan? All that’s made up for a more western audience. It’s like going to Taco Bell, ordering a 7-Layer Burrito, and claiming that as an authentic Mexican meal.
I love Egg Foo Young. I shouldn’t for many, many reasons. But I do.
