Being Lazy Finally Pays Off

Around 10 AM, I start to think that maybe it would be good for me to get out of the apartment. Walk around some – maybe go downtown, and just take pictures. Learn the streets more. Go to a museum. But then I start overthinking things… by the time I shower, it’ll be 10:30, and by the time I hit the train and actually arrive downtown it’ll be more like 11:15… and by the time I actually walk to a museum, it’ll be closer to 11:45, and I’ll be hungry… and after eating some lunch it’ll be more like 12:15, and already half the day’s gone. Might be just better to stay at home.

Amazing how I can talk myself out of things, isn’t it?

And as I’m hashing over this ridiculous timeline and wondering how many issues I really have, I get a call from Heather. She invites me out to have drinks with her and some friends – at the California Clipper. She’s surprised to find me home (and not at work); I tell her that I start sometime this week, but I’m not sure when. After she finds out I’m going to be puttering around the house all day, she decides to kidnap me. We go off around town, running a few of her errands.

We end up spending most of the afternoon hanging out, going to a few stores, and having a nice meal at a Mexican place. At one point, we were near a Pet Smart, and I found this image rather funny:

I’ve been slightly more hesitant to take pictures around Heather. Just didn’t feel comfortable taking photos of someone I don’t really know yet.

Running errands today was fun – and hanging out with her and talking was really nice.
