So I wake up early enough to catch the cartoons that come on, around 7 AM. Oddly, I’ve become rather fond of the Jackie Chan Adventures. It’s all rather silly, and surprisingly funny. It might also be some of the vector artwork – I’m also incredibly curious about the ways in which they go about "cheating" movement, ie the way they imply motion through a static foreground image and a "moving" background image. Yes, even through distance and time… I can hear you giggling at me. I know, I’m watching cartoons designed for a grade-schooler… but hey, you’re the one reading my blog right now. So now who’s the lame-O?
There’s this other cartoon that I’ve been watching (fine, fine… I’m still the lame-O… fine) called Yu-Gi-Oh! The best way I can describe this cartoon is one part Pokemon, one part soap opera and one part that scene in Star Wars where Chewbacca and C3PO play chess with holograms. It’s a strangely compelling formula.
