Social Future, Hermetic Present

Justin wrote me earlier tonight, as I was looking up links for The Private Life of Plants. He was asking if anyone was interested in going to see Redmoon Theater’s Winter Pageant on December 29th. He’s also going to go see The Apartment at the Gene Siskel Film Center afterwards. I think I’d be interested in that too. Sounds like a good time – I only know Redmoon from the annual festival they hold on Halloween.

He also invited me to drink some Lagavulin with him, Stu and Chris. Unfortunately, I feel like getting caught up on various things (this blog, a few poems for Matt, proofing some writing for Moonie). That, and I also feel like staying at home tonight. I’m terrible – I haven’t seen Stu in ages, and miss his company.

I’m wondering now about my spontaneity. I seem to be amicable when it comes to agreeing to future events. But on short notice, I tend to balk. Almost every time, actually, now that I think about it.
