It’s living vicariously through someone else’s computer games.
TS7 bought a copy of Sim City 4, and it turns out you can "create" your own sims to observe. It’s not quite as detailed as The Sims, but apparently – you see a lot.
I found out today that he’s named a few of his "people" based on some of his online friends. I proud to say that there exists a little virtual me on his computer, inside his vast, digital city. I believe his name is Sim-noy. :D
Mr. Grumpy’s sim was living by the waterfront and working for a high-tech firm. Me? I started off working as the fucking cashier at a movie theatre!
:shakes fist:
Turns out, the theater got demolished and I was working for a while as a retail clerk (alongside Mrs. Dean). Then, I think I got fed up with retail and went to teach in an elementary school. At one point, I was cited in a newspaper praising a local doctor for curing my stomach ache (which I got from eating too much fast food). Doh!
The good news? Earlier tonight, I found out I got through college, got a degree, and got a job in another town. To top it off, I drive to and from my job in my Ferrari! Yeah, baby!
Hmm. Is it wrong that I’m this excited by a virtual me, living in a made-up world on someone else’s computer?
What’s that?
Bah. You’re just jealous of my fucking car.
