Wha? I hit the couch around 2, 3 PM. I wake up some six hours later – it’s dark, and I’m not entirely clear on where I am. Things that happened to me what seem like yesterday were, truly, two days ago. Now with this big, six-hour long nap… a lot of things feel like they happened three days ago. I’m all mixed up.
I think’ it’s an early night here. I wish I could have done a more entertaining job keeping this thing updated during the late night workshift. But things just got really hairy as the night progressed, and I found myself sweating bullets at 4:30 AM – worried I wouldn’t get things done on time.
Everyone seems to like what I did with the Flash – but to be honest, I’m not all that happy with it. I had better intentions and the whole thing turned into a big hack job, with me rushing to get things functional in the wee hours of the morning. To others, it seems slick – but to me it’s just: tint it white, blink, blink, blink, alpha fade and ease into place. Psah. For the first time, I had a fairly good batch of sound effects and I was really excited to use them to accentuate some of the movements. But my brain started going south and things like structuring a four-image photo gallery were giving me no end of troubles.
It functions, and Ben and I got the job done. But on the Flash end, I had hoped for more out of myself. Ah well, lessons learned for the next project. If you want to see it in action, check out Q101′s home page and click on the "Big Phat Ride" promo. I pulled in the on-air promo that Ned made (which was fun to listen to in his studio room). My favorite part is when they mention the car also has "direct cerebral cortex interface jacks in the headrests."
hahahahahaha!
Hey, how cool is this? I just noticed that there’s a little photo gallery with pictures of the Hummer, also on the main page! Hey, Ben and I made that thing! Woohoo! This makes me feel really good – we designed it to be fairly easy for all our webmasters to use, and Phil (Twitch) is our guinnea pig in this respect. He’s the first one we’ve given it to, to let him help us test the thing out. This is awesome to see that he’s using it in several places… rock!
