From Proof-Of-Concept to Proof-Of-Silliness

At work, Ben and I were trying to put together a proof-of-concept. There was a request for an outside vendor’s offering (transparent Flash ads that contained video). As much as I oppose this idea (and I mean to make a formal, well-informed presentation on exactly why I think this particular approach is potentially damaging), Ben and I both wanted to see what was involved in actually creating such an ad, from scratch.

Ben is the one who’s more interested in video, and so we shot a brief clip of him against a solid background using my camera. Ben‘s played a bit with this video in AfterEffects, but as the week’s progressed this has taken on more of a backburner status.

However. I still had the video on my camera, and decided I should probably put it to some good use.

One of these days, I’m going to have to study up more on video. I keep uploading these massive Flash files, and I know there’s better ways to optimize this shit.
