During the reading, I had a difficult time not thinking about how much I wanted to be in front of a crowd again, reading my own writing. It’s been close to five years since I’ve done anything like that, and the sheer magnitude of what my ego is lusting after is a little disconcerting at times.
The thought that kept going through my head was: I want a microphone. I want an audience. I want a spotlight.
Felix's Chinese name is Wei Tien. For the longest time, he thought his name meant "very sky." But he later found out it roughly translated to "Preserver of Heaven."
Felix was in show choir in high school. He can still pull out the old "jazz hands" if need be, due in no small part to muscle memory.
Every once in a while, Felix has some interesting run-ins with other Asians. At times, they're armed with cameras; at other times, he has the slight feeling that they might be armed, period.
