Thanks to Ecce Signum, I found out about Spore, the newest game from Will Wright (creator of Sim City and The Sims).
The premise of the game sounds incredible – at the game’s start, your job is to slowly evolve tiny micro-organisms. Over the course of the game, you go from primordial ooze to interstellar overlord.
I highly encourage you to read the GameSpy article – some really interesting concepts on user-based content. Even if you’re not into games, I think you’d find it interesting.
And at the very least, check out the site for the game. Some sweet, sweet Flash animation there.
