Turns out that those umbrellas from yesterday are part of a fundraiser at the Mart. It’s something in conjunction with Taste of Thailand, and the proceeds go to help the Tsunami victims.
I found out a bit about this event from Karen, who works at the front desk. I think she said it’s something like $500 a plate.
Seeing as I only had $490 in cash on me at the time, I decided to skip the dinner. Maybe next year.
Felix has given the Heimlich Manuever not once... but twice, to two different people. He's happy to report that both attempts were successful.
Felix has perfect pitch. If you play a note, he can guess what it is with a pretty decent degree of accuracy. He attributes this skill to learning music at an early age.
