Listening to my inner extrovert

When I got home today, I felt like staying in and just doing the hermit thing. I recently rented a poker DVD by Annie Duke, and was watching a bit of it when Justin called me up. He mentioned going out to Clubfoot, and I declined, saying I felt like staying in.

Fast forward a few hours, and in the back of my head… this voice is saying that I should just go out. Even though I don’t necessarily *want* to, I should. It was another one of those moments where I knew it would be fun, but I just had to get over my impulse to get all introverted.

So… I threw on my coat, and went out into one of the coldest nights so far this winter.

// Sidenote: the ” target=”_blank”>Annie Duke DVD is pretty amazing. As I was watching it, I caught myself saying “Wow” out loud, more times than I could count. I may have to buy this DVD, there’s so much great information on it.

After hanging out at Justin’s, we met up with Howard and made our way over to Clubfoot.

Lots of neat stuff, all along the walls and set inside the displays.

We’re there for just a bit when Michelle (who I met last August) and Anne (who I met a few days later) join us at the bar. I spent a good portion of the night chatting with Anne, talking about her upcoming graduation and move out to the sunny west coast.

The video (below) isn’t all that great, but I feel like I’ve been lax on the video side lately. So here ya go:

We all arrived pretty late, and so by the time we got settled it was maybe 11:30 PM. Next thing I knew, the lights were coming on and they were kicking folks out.

Justin, Howard and I ended up hanging at Justin’s for a bit, and then decided to hop a cab and hit Hollywood Grill for some late-night grub.

En route, spotted this guy.

MAN was it cold! I think tonight it was in the neighborhod of -20 below, wind and all. I’ve definitely been in worse, but seeing as how we’d been having mid-30 days, tonight was particularly harsh.

Ahhh, Hollywood Grill. Open 24 hours and full of dinery goodness.
