Got a call from Liz after I got home. After painting her cage, it turns out Baxter refused to go back in. Liz had been there for over 2 hours, trying everything she could, to no avail.
And, Murphy’s law being what it is, of course Baxter went back in as I was driving over there. Once I showed up, Liz and I got Baxter into her travel cage, and we hauled a final load over to the new apartment.
After a very brief unloading, we split up to take showers and throw on some clothes that weren’t totally soaked with sweat. Liz, for her part, had to endure a cold shower b/c her heat wasn’t on yet.

And me? Well, I found out that the front of my shirt got stained with sweat. Given the nature of my pecs, apparently, I developed these two white rings – you can sort of make it out, if you look in the picture above. When I mentioned it to Liz and how I’ve been walking around all day with ghost-boob outlines… her reply was “Yeah, I noticed that earlier.”

The two of us met up again at about 10PM to catch a late dinner. We went to Smoke Daddy’s for some burgers. After a full day of moving, neither one of us felt like beer – so she got a Spring and I got what must have been my third Coke for the day. I got to talk a bit with Royal – Liz’s coworker – who happened to be at Smoke Daddy’s tonight. The two of them talked shop some.
The evening was pretty great. The two of us were just revelling in the act of being motionless, and we were outside on a Saturday night, eating fries, sipping cokes, and watching people walk by on Division. First meal for Liz as an official resident of Ukranian Village. A nice, calm end to a rather busy day.
