Spotted this on MetaFilter, and thought it was worth sharing. These images are really quite compelling and haunting, and they took my breath away.
Partly, it’s the passge of time that gets conveyed. But it’s also the sheer breadth of history that’s contained and suggested in these photographs. Take a look for yourself (and the rest of the Mechanised site is pretty fantastic as well).

Felix has given the Heimlich Manuever not once... but twice, to two different people. He's happy to report that both attempts were successful.
Felix has perfect pitch. If you play a note, he can guess what it is with a pretty decent degree of accuracy. He attributes this skill to learning music at an early age.
