With all the new folks and the new office, a bunch of us decided that we were overdue for another big poker game at work. And any organized evening of Texas Holdem isn’t complete without… The Lord and Master Stein™.

We had a total of 11 people playing, and had to divide the game into two different “tables.” This shot is of the group on the other end, and on my end we had me, Jane, Chris, Phil and Mike.

Jane won this incredibly large pot, with FOUR QUEENS. The hand was so nice, it needed its own photo documentation.

Here’s me and my small stack… trying to cling to life. I was holding on by my fingernails for most of the second half, just trying to make it to the next hand.
On the other end of the table… those who got knocked out banded together, and started up an impromptu game of Charades. While tonight wasn’t exactly a riotous Texas Holdem: Tequila Rules evening… there were a few drinks passed around. And it did get a bit raucous, especially at the Charades end of the table. :)

Mike and James, playing heads up. (And just for the record – I clung on to capture third).
For most of the night, James was the absolute top dog, with an incredibly massive (and daunting) pile of chips. Mike though, kept right at him and methodically chipped away as best he could. Here’s a quick recap of the last couple of hands, and the game’s conclusion:
