Wonderland: Children’s Drawings as Photographs

Artist Yeondoo Jung has a project entitled Wonderland, which takes drawings done by children and brings them very much to life. Going back and forth between the original drawing and photograph is just all sorts of delightful. I bet this whole translation process from drawing to real life was a blast.

This reminds me a bit of The Monster Engine in its approach. I love projects like this, that let us adults see a bit of what children see. Too often, as we grow older, the world locks itself into what we believe to be its concrete forms and structures. It’s great when artists help us glimpse a bit of that magic and wonder we used to have, before we all grew up too much for our own good. [via]
