An Irrational Celebration: Happy Pi Day (3/14)


Today is the 20th anniversary of Pi Day, which was first celebrated/created by Larry Shaw in San Francisco in 1988. Based on the American date format (3/14), today is a day lots of folks the world over celebrate arguably one of the most popular irrational numbers we have – Pi.

This makes for a pretty interesting day today on the blog as well, as my pi10k experiment tends to really make the rounds. In fact, over the past week there’s a been a steadily increasing number of folks stopping by to visit the project. I’ll be checking in on stats and numbers all day, as I expect a goodly number of visitors to be traipsing through here.

To all the folks who might be stopping by for the first time – welcome! By all means, please browse around the site. I’ve got a fair number of posts on here, and the site is chock full of all sorts of things – moments I’m proud of, and other moments I’m… uh… well, not so proud of.
