Decorating Easter Eggs with Liz

After a long, lazy day… Liz and I started a bit late on the whole decorating Easter eggs bit. But around 10PM, we got our dyes out and settled down to do a bit of painting and drawing.

While we had a lot of colors to choose from, the combination of dyes in mugs and wine glasses made the table seem like some kind of drinking-Russian-Roulette game.

In looking over last year’s egg painting, it’s surprising to me to see some similarities. Apparently, each year, I get the notion to paint some kind of nerdy “egg head” with glasses (note: not a self portrait).

I’m wholly unused to Easter as a holiday in and of itself, so when it happens… it tends to catch me by surprise. With Liz (and in particular her family), it’s like this whole other fun holiday I used to know as a kid… and had forgotten about, until now.
