Peabe @ A.Okay Official: The Return of Dr. Aquard

Liz and I headed over to A.Okay Official this evening (3720 N Clark St.), to check out Bryan’s show there.

A quick view of the interior.

The show/gallery was near the back, in an adjoining space.

Walking around looking at the paintings, I wondered where Bryan was. Glancing out the window, I spotted him immediately.

A few pieces – the center one I recognize from the Hello My Name is Chicago show.

A few more paintings. Sadly, the piece with the moped is not for sale.

A cool piece that was done right on the gallery wall. I love how it crosses over onto the vent/floor.

A few more closeups.

Folks milling about, checking out the artwork and the artist statement.

Portrait of the Artist as a Young (Aquard) Man. Bryan was on his way through the gallery area, hoping to hide out in back for a while. Along the way, he got accosted for some photos, and ended up talking to a ton of folks.

By the time we left, more and more people were showing up. I know Bryan was pretty tired from the past two days (finishing up pieces and setting up the gallery space). When I asked how he was doing, he mentioned he was doing well… but was looking forward to sleep.

His show runs for a while, so if you’re up near A.Okay Official in Lincoln Park… swing on by and take a peek.
