Paul Stanley + ColourfulEcho.com: An Unlikely and Delightful Combination

A long while back, Jane introduced me to a lesser-known album by KISS frontman Paul Stanley.

Actually, it’s of Paul Stanley, but not really by him. It’s a fan-made bootleg CD entitled “People, Let Me Get This Off My Chest: The Very Best of Paul Stanley’s On Stage Banter” (link goes to a .zip download).

Now if that title doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will. It’s essentially nothing BUT Stanley’s microphone, with almost all of the other sounds (the other band members, the stadium crowds) cut out. Listening to Stanley try to pump up the audience totally out of context is just… a little surreal, and a little fantastic, all at the same time.

And so I give you what may not have previously been available to the world: an audio visualization of Paul Stanley, doing his magic on stage.

Man, once you start doing this… it’s hard to stop at just one. Ok – off to bed, for reals this time. Goodnight, Toronto!

  1. Haha! I’m downloading this now. I can’t wait to count all the “C’mon people, clap your hands!” instances.

  2. Sometimes, I’ll be playing tracks from my iTunes library and this album will come on accidentally. Most often, I’ll be listening to Page France and next thing I know… Paul Stanley’s yelling at me, through my speakers.”WAAAAAALLL-right!! To-RON-to! You feel GOOD!”

  3. TOTALLY!! I finally had to remove it from my iTunes for that exact reason. Was playing with your visualizer again, then ran into THIS GEM:

    Yours is MUCH prettier :-)

  4. Which is prettier – my face or my visualizer? Wait, wait. Don’t answer that. I’m going to assume my face.On this blog… I figured mine would be the only Asian face with electrodes/wires attached to it. But I guess I was wrong.Actually, that was a pretty neat interface/setup. A little unsettling, but still neat.
