Windosill: New Flash Puzzle Game by Vectorpark
Windosill is a fantastic new game from Vectorpark. Unlike the prior games/projects, this one’s an actual download and not online.
I first came across Vectorpark a long, LONG time ago. I’m talking way back in like 2000 or 2001. I mentioned the game back in 2004, but if you haven’t played Levers… I think it still holds up today.
More recently, you might recognize Feed the Head, which came out in 2007.
The latest game, Windosill, is offered as a download for either PC or Mac. The first half of the game is free, and if you want to play through… it’ll cost you all of $3.
I have to say though: absolutely worth it. The gameplay mechanics are fantastic, and this whole game is a serious of slow and delightful surprises. They’re puzzles, with the ultimate goal of moving your little car/vehicle across the screen by opening a door. But exactly how you get that door open is where the game shines.
Each screen is set up to encourage exploration. There are no instructions, no rules. It’s a lot of trial and error, but I think the game has a perfect balance of mystery and reward. This is, in my opinion, a very well-designed game.
And if you’re balking at paying for things, at the very least download the game and try it out. It’s free, and I really think you’ll enjoy the first half (even if you don’t end up purchasing it).
The whole thing is beautiful, well made, super slick and chock full of vector goodness.
