Pomegranate Phone: “iPhone Killer” Worthy of the Name

Finally… a mobile phone on the market that’s actually worthy of the “iPhone Killer” moniker. The Pomegranate Phone has a pretty impressive list of features, once you go through them all.

From the rumors circulating around, I think they’ve gotten the firmware issues resolved. And now, it’s just a matter of finding the right distribution in the US (this phone has been available overseas for about a month now).

  • I keep thinking this is an elaborate hoax. I was fine until the coffee. Where does a full cup of water GO inside that size apparatus?

  • Okay, now I feel better. Is *is* a hoax. Whew. You had me goin’ there.

  • either that’s fake or i’m pretty sure i would throw that phone in a blender after two seconds with a keyboard that wentQWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZetc. dvorak’s bad enough.

  • I’m having a really hard time reading tone here. You know it’s a hoax, right?http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2008/10/pomegranate-ns0.html

  • Yeah, I was trying to not give things away. But it’s totally a hoax.I fell for it at first, and thought it was a real phone up until the coffee bit. Then, when I looked at the “features” list… I realized what was going on. :)Really well done though. Now THIS is something to aspire to, next April 1st!

  • Clever ad campaign, though! (though what a lot of work just to get people to visit!)

  • It’s good for them that it’s a hoax, otherwise NBC would probably sue the shit out of them over the logo.
