Liz and the Lengthy Crinoline

I walked in to the dining sewing room a few days ago and found Liz working on a new project. I was surprised to see fabric strewn across the table, and looping on the floor behind her.

It made me think of Kerouac’s manuscript for On the Road, just a little bit.

I found out later that, as she was working, a metallic part of her serger had broken off and flew into her face! If you’re curious to learn a bit more about what she’s making and why, check out her blog entry recapping her process.
