Bryan’s Video Proposal to Jamie (With a Little Help From Elvis and a Lot of Friends)
In June, Bryan set an intricate plan in motion, as he was preparing to propose to Jamie. Here’s a snippet from the email Liz and I received:
If you say yes, I will send you a small audio clip. Then I will need you to video tape yourself singing or lipsyncing (up to you) to the song. Don’t worry about quality, iPhone cameras/webcams/iPad cams/phone cams are encouraged. I’d like to make it as easy as possible for you. Also, you don’t have to look like a deer-in-headlights staring blank/fearful into a camera. Dancing, groups of people, and/or chaos is also encouraged.
Liz and I were one of many of Bryan and Jamie’s friends to contribute, and it made for a pretty fun video. Very cool that we got to be a part of the proposal:
It’s funny that I saw news of their arriving in Hawaii via Twitter and Instagram. For a few days afterwards, I kept wondering Did it happen yet? Did he do it yet?. I saw the video for the first time while I was in Indianapolis, sometime Saturday morning… and immediately went to show Liz.
What a great way to include so many friends in this moment. Congratulations to Bryan and Jamie (and Evie)!
PS: As if there was any question, Jamie said “Yes!”
