Goodbye, La Boulangerie

A few days ago, on walking by La Boulangerie on my way way home… I noticed that the inside of the store was entirely cleared out. It struck me as unusual, but part of me thought that they might be redecorating again (they entirely redid their store about 6 months ago).

Sadly, this morning, I found a “For Lease” sign… which means that our local French bakery is no more. Looking on their website, it seems that they were doing well enough (and opened up a second location in Lakeview). For now though, they appear to be going the food truck route.

It was a dangerous thing to have macarons (note: not macaroons) so close to our apartment. It was a lovely thing to be able to pick up a baguette on the way home, though it appears we didn’t do this often enough.

Thanks for all the croissants, macarons, and crepes, La Boulangerie – sorry to see you go.
