Friday Challenge: Bouncy Ball the Domo
Our most recent Friday challenge last week involved a bouncy ball, and a little Domo-kun, dressed inexplicably as some kind of luchador.

Last week, Leslie and Chris swung by to hang out a bit after work. Leslie was working on some sewing projects, and Chris was going to swing by as well (to play videogames with me).
On Tuesday, there was a ceremony in the afternoon for a big occasion: Ben had hit his 10 year mark at Emmis Interactive, and was to receive his 10-year watch. We had several folks from Emmis Corporate in town yesterday (in particular our CEO Jeff Smulyan, who would be the one to give Ben the watch).
Today was the very last day for Wolff’s Flea Market at the Allstate arena. Chris mentioned having an interest in going, and convinced Leslie to tag along. The night before, I got a call from Ben, also asking to tag along.
The game goes like this: one player looks through the Slang Dictionary and selects a word. They then tell the other players what the word is, and everyone writes down their own definition on a slip of paper. The person who picked the word writes down the actual, real definition. All the slips are turned in, and the person who chose the word has to read all the definitions out loud.
Saturday, a few of us headed out to Brookfield to go play video games at Galloping Ghost – an arcade that features over 200 old-school games. Unlike Nickel City, no tokens or coins are needed: you pay your entry fee, and can play to your heart’s content. You can even come and go all day, until the place closes at 2AM.
For lunch, a group of us headed out to a (semi) nearby Indian place called Chicago Curry House. Today was the official 10-year mark for Ben, as he officially has been an employee of Emmis Interactive for a decade now! To celebrate, a group of us headed out to lunch together. View of the bar. The interior is quite nice,…
A new gameplay video was just released for Wiz Kid Jr., an arcade puzzle game for Android devices, from the folks at Super Combo Collective. Which, incidentally, is none other than my good friends Chris and Matt. I’ve had the chance to play this game a lot, and I can say with confidence that it’s a great game, and incredibly…
I’m excited to announce that Chris and Matt Miner have teamed up to create a pretty awesome game/app! It’s called Wiz Kid Jr. and it just became available on the Android Marketplace as of Monday! I got to test out a version of the game a week or two ago, and found it incredibly addictive. There’s a lot to explore…
Today, Leslie graduated from UIC with a Masters in Nutrition. Lots of folks showed up at her parents’ house, to help celebrate. Since the event itself was on May 5th, the party had a Cinco de Mayo theme to it. Of course, I didn’t get a photo of her wearing her gown. And didn’t get to capture shots of all…
Since we’re working from home today, Chris chatted with me on IM to ask if I wanted to meet up at Longman & Eagle for lunch. It was a short trek (despite the snow), and so Liz and I bundled up and made our way out around noon. A few smaller side streets had been cleared, but after the mid-morning…
I recently relocated by desk at work. Since I’m now concentrating more on mobile apps, it made more sense for me to be working closer with Jose and Laurence as we’re all focusing on the same areas. This left the desk near Jane and Amie (where I used to sit) empty. This afternoon, when I glanced over, I saw this….
Chris and I, both sporting shirts we got when Bryan had a show at Code of Conduct Tattoos. Glad that I’ve now stepped foot in this exclusive club. I am truly honored… honored and humbled, to count myself among the elite (prior members include Jane, TJ and the club’s two founders: Allison and Bryan). A week or so ago, Ben sent out a company-wide email announcing the latest Emmis Interactive contest: Flipping Out (Search for the Next Pinball Wizard). Like so many of our other office tournaments (The Pingmaster and Rock, Paper, Scissor), this one would also be set up bracket/elimination style. And, of course, it would come with its own custom trophy for…
So I’ve officially decided to apply for the Museum of Science and Industry’s Month at the Museum contest. Of the many things required of each applicant, one thing is a 60 second video – telling the museum a bit about yourself, and why you’d be a good candidate. After work yesterday, Chris and I headed over to his place to…
