Head in Hands

A few weeks back, Kevin gave me permission to play with a song he made a long while ago. I’ve been humming and obsessing over "Head in Hands" for several years now, and I’ve always wanted to put the lyrics to Flash. Honestly, it’s more of a compulsion – doodling around, really. But there’s something about the multiple voices cascading over each other than I really dig.

The animations aren’t all that snazzy, but the point here wasn’t to dazzle with motion. I just wanted to tackle a sort of visualization of the words – the notes and the lyrics I’ve always liked a lot. And, having only text to work with was good practice for me. Keep in mind this is still a rough draft. I’ll probably obsess and tweak this thing some more this weekend.

After thinking about things a bit, I realize that this exercise comes directly from my time in Alabama. Towards the end of the week, I talked about streaming audio and how you could time animations to sound fairly accurately in Flash.
