Slow News Day
At lunch, a bunch of us noticed that the bowl of Hershey’s kisses had depleted almost to nothing. When we had our big webmaster meeting, last February, everyone got a ton of food as a "welcome" gift. Ever since, our office has been flooded with candy, kisses, and general not-good-for-you snacks.
In a sudden search to find more candy, Justin came across a gift that he received over Christmas. Christmas!
It came from an aunt of his, I think. Something like that. Anyhow – he brings out this jar of whole fig preserves, and it sits on the table for a little while. Seeing how I haven’t ever had an actual, whole fig (and how today seemed like a rather low-content blog sort of day), what the hell.
I told him I’d eat one if he ate one.
All in all, not as bad as I thought. Rather sweet, and there was more texture than there was taste. Our coworker Joe came by later, and described eating whole figs as akin to "biting into one big pimple."
I don’t think I’m going to have another one anytime soon.
