There’s No Pressure Like Peer Pressure
Matt and I are going to start up our weekly exchange of poems again. We had a good run the last time, so the trick will be to maintain it this time. So far, we’re setting the rules at five lines. Three poems a week, on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Next month, we increase it to nine lines.
| Matt: i don’t know if i ever told you this… Matt: i sent out some of those haiku you and i were writing a year ago (a YEAR ago! wow.) and even though they weren’t really haiku, editors hand-wrote me notes saying that the writing was good but that these weren’t haiku. one, an editor of a top mag, took the time to explain more closely what a haiku was. another sent me a free issue of the mag. the editors seem cool. that’s what i’m getting at. Portnoy: Yes, I remember you saying that. Portnoy: Very nice to find editors who are so active. Seems rare, but maybe moreso in the free verse world. Matt: ahem… a year ago. Portnoy: lol Matt: *looks around the room* Matt: *looks at Felix* Matt: *clears throat* Matt: a year ago. bastard. Portnoy: :) |
