Dinner At Nola’s
Oh my word. Ben and I walked over to Nola’s, and waited around for Justin, Kent, Christine, and Stu. We chatted a while and, slowly, over the course of 15 minutes, everyone trickled in. Justin and Ben both had never had oysters, but they ended up trying one for the first time tonight. Ben tried a few, then had to make an early exit to get back home.
I really should have taken pictures, but I was having a good time talking with everyone and the idea of documenting things didn’t even occur ot me. I don’t know if this is a good or a bad sign. :)
We watched bits of TV (there are at least four huge screens hanging from the walls, all on different stations), and made fun of a wide range of things (including, but not limited to Scientology, Tom Cruise, and Joe Millionaire). All in all, we had about three dozen oysters, some spring rolls (with duck), crab cakes, and several people got seafood entrees. I was wishy-washy on whether I wanted an actual entree, but by the time I got around to looking at the menu again… I felt full. So that was a plus.
We ordered two servings of bread pudding, and holy CRAP was that good. Stu summed it up best when he said that "there’s no way I would have ever orderd this on my own, but I’m glad we did tonight."
