Alex and Linda Visit
Alex and Linda were visiting this weekend, and a bunch of us got together to have a late brunch at Hilary’s Urban Eatery (HUE), a nice little place on Division, just east of Ashland.
En route, I found this. It’s really nice to see the graffiti kids encouraging literacy.
Hilary’s. This was the first time I’d been here – the inside is quite nice. Basically, it’s a three floor house that’s got tables everywhere. A very cozy feel to everything. We were up on the second floor, where there was a brunch buffet. The price was a LOT steeper than I thought it would be, but what the hell – it was a good meal.
Rob and me. The first ones to arrive, the two of us hung out in front of the place, and chatted. Rob’s got a gallery opening coming up in August, and he’s got a lot of work between now and then. He was talking a lot about trying to find more time to work, and may end up switching to part-time so he can devote more hours to his own stuff.
Ah to be young and in love. Linda and Alex will be tying the knot soon, and that’s gonna be one heck of a fun wedding. Today, we boys compared schedules (busy young go-getters that we are), and tried to come up with a good plan and time for Alex’s bachelor party. Looks like it’s going to involve two days of camping, and renting a big van. That’s gonna be some fun times.
Justin, showing off the softer side.
Dave, blissful after a hearty breakfast.

Me, and some jellybeans. This sort of sums up Hilary’s, in a nutshell.
Rob and me again. Dig the mason jars.
This was right behind us. I’m not sure if there’s any additional seating above where we were or not.
On the way home, I find peace.
Just some random leaves. I was taken by the mixture of colors here, ducking under a branch.
