Half Full

During lunch, Ben gets the idea of starting up a fundraiser to get me a new camera. I’m a little uncomfortable about this, but before I know it… he’s got everyone at the table willing to chip in a little bit of money.

What’s great is that a lot of folks mentioned the blog, and how they’ve send links to friends to show off the workplace. Some use it as a memory tool, when they can’t recall when a certain event or thing happened. Some use it as a photo repository of sorts. It was kind of cool to hear how everyone was using the blog, in their own ways.

Back at the office, Ben sends out an email to all the other webmasters at all the radio stations. I don’t know when, specifically, this started… but the blog address I think has gotten passed around.

Well Ben comes over, and he tells me to make a really sad, puppy-dog eye face. He snaps a photo of me, and sends out an email to all the Emmis Interactive folks, outlining what happened over lunch. And the next thing I know… people are chipping in money from all over. Amazing.
