Overflowing
Ok, this is fucking ridiculous. In about an hour and a half, Ben’s email garnered a LOT of replies. Right now, it’s hours after the fact… and I’m still not able to wrap my head around this properly.
The total? About $650.
Sweet. Jebus.
I’m still not entirely sure what happened today. In the span of about 2 hours, I lost my camera that I’ve been carrying around with me for nearly two and a half years… to now having a crapload of money towards buying a fancy new camera.
To top things off, Amanda emailed me to say the St. Louis folks were looking into a local camera supplier (who they’ve done business with in the past), and they’re trying to work out some potential discount or deal. So not only do I have a ton of money to buy a camera, I may potentially be able to get something even nicer!
To all you people who sent money my way: you guys are nuts. I can’t even begin to say thank you enough. I’m now, hours later, still laughing out loud and shaking my head in disbelief. I’ve said “What the fuck?” so many times tonight, I’ve lost track. I can’t even believe you guys would do something like this.
I have to say… I have some amazingly incredible, generous friends. I really am stunned at how things have turned out today.
Of course, I’m reminded of the last time I had some amazingly incredible, generous friends come to my aid. Along with the generosity shown to me by Ben and his church.
I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again: I don’t feel deserving of this. I am floored at the generosity around me, and at my good fortune for being surrounded by such wonderful people. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, thank you. I can’t say it enough.
