Drinks. Clubfoot. Pool

After getting my ass stomped losing at poker, Justin and I headed to a nearby bar for a drink. I forget the name of it, but it’s a small one on the corner of Damen and Thomas, and it’s numerical or something? Anyhow…

Justin talked me in to a quick drink. And we hung out here for a bit (Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo was on the TV, and it became difficult to NOT just sit there and watch the movie).

We then walked on over to Clubfoot, and hung out there a while. We gave Dave a call, and he ended up joining us for a bit. At one point, I wandered over to the pool table (there were a handful of folks playing), and put some quarters down. I figured I’d play one game, and then head back.

Well, I got on a pretty decent streak. I wasn’t playing anywhere like when I made the best shot ever, but I was doing ok. I played solo for a good while, and was able to hold the table for a few. Then, as more people showed up, the folks that were putting down quarters were looking to play doubles.

I ended up meeting Cammie, who became my teammate for the rest of the night. Now that I’m a bit more sober, I don’t rightly remember how we teamed up in the first place. But hey – it was a good thing, as she really held her own. Between the two of us, we had the table for a good long while.

Overall, there were a few close calls; I wasn’t shooting great, but fairly consistently.

Ok, wait. I’m remembering now that at one point, I was going to play doubles and my teammate was to be this cute blonde girl. However, all I remember is her pushing her face to about an inch of mine, and her asking me where I was from. When I explained that I was Chinese, she was shaking her head a lot, as though to tell me I was wrong about that. In fact, she refused to believe I was Chinese. The whole time, she was leaning in and I couldn’t tell if she was trying to kiss me or start a fight. LOL.

I think maybe that’s when Cammie stepped in, and became my partner. Who knows – I was pretty hazy by the end of the evening. Next thing I know, Justin has moved over from the front of the bar and Dave’s taken off (I had no idea I was in back, shooting pool for so long).

Here’s a pic of Cammie, which I took right before I left. Fun, fun night. I think my interest in billiards has been rekindled; I’m thinking a lot about popping over to Leona’s (which is down the street from Clubfoot) and getting on one of the nice tables there. Maybe some beer. Just grab a cue and shoot for an hour or two.
