Tomorrow: Photo Shoot for WLUP

Tomorrow morning (and I really mean morning), Angie’s swinging by to pick me up at around 6:45AM. We’re going to some location for a video shoot that will involve The Loop’s Rock Girl. One of the projects we’re delivering next week is an “Ultimate Garage” contest, where listeners can win a TON of stuff – including a Suzuki SV 1000 motorcycle, a Chevy Equinox LS, a John Deere L100 Lawn Tracktor, a Rolling Rock Kegerator (refrigeration unit for a keg) along with a year’s supply of beer, a flat screen TV, tools out the wazoo, and a custom garage built on-site.

It’s based a lot on the Ultracrib contests that Q101’s done in the past. So tomorrow is going to be one of those moments where I get to sneak behind the scenes a little bit. Should be fun.

There’s a film crew doing some sort of video shoot, as this is the Rock Girl’s first official promotion. We’re unsure if they can give us stills to work with, so I’m heading down to try ot grab some shots, more or less as a backup. I’m a little nervous, as I’m afraid I’ll come back with crap photos and we won’t be able to use any of them. Sure, I take a lot of pictures, but I’m no photographer.

But – this gave me a great excuse to go out and buy a tripod. I cabbed it over to a nearby Wolf Camera and picked one up, figuring I’d walk home and maybe test it out along the way. Well, guess who left their memory card in the reader before walking out the door?

So, I got a nice walk in. After dropping off my bags at home, I walked out and wandered the neighborhood for about an hour, testing out the tripod and trying to get used to using it. Pics below.
