Well, according to the guidelines for the 2006 Weblog Awards, 150 randomly selected voters were given a list of the top contenders in each category a few days ago. They had until yesterday (Tuesday, January 17, 10PM EST) to pick their five favorites from each category.
So technically, the first round is over. The finalists will be posted on Friday, and then the voting is opened up to the public once more.
Honestly, I have no idea whether I’ve got an actual shot at making the short list… or whether I’m just deluding myself. Sure I’ve got a decent amount of content, but I don’t think I have all THAT many visitors, or even people who know about this site. I could be wrong.
The one thing that gets me is that I’m fairly confident there aren’t too many other folks who are as
committed dedicated compulsive as I am. I want to believe that in the whole realm of blogs (I despise the term blog-o-sphere), only a very small percentage of them are blogs that offer daily updates.
Ah well. Nothing to be done really. One more day and it’s Friday. I guess we’ll see what happens. :)
