Sound Work, Prison Break Game
One of the big projects we’re working on currently is an online Flash game for Fox’s Prison Break. Right now, Chris is running lead with it, and handling a lot of the complex math/motion for the characters. I’m helping out with some of the supplemental stuff, but haven’t really been able to assist much as I’m trying to get a bunch of other projects out the door.
Today, near the end of the day, we sent in a request for audio to Ned, one of the amazingly talented audio guys here at the station. The three of us ran through a list of sound effects we wanted for the game, and it took about an hour to get everything we were after (jets taking off, helicopter sound, footseps running through grass, etc).
Of particular interest, I was quite tickled by the sounds Ned created for the “guards” in the game. Chris, Mike and I ended up doing the voice work for the guards, and Ned added in some static, distortion, and a walkie-talkie effect.
The few times I’ve gone in to do audio work, I get nervous and I’m fairly quiet. The result is me talking really softly, really quickly. However, despite my self-consciousness behind the mic… I’m happy with the final result. These audio clips are pretty fun. I’m hoping these will work out in the game itself.
