Digging Out the Car
My car was parked on Logan Boulevard, just shy of the Milwaukee intersection. While I got a great parking spot when we left for Atlanta, I came back to find it fairly locked into place.
I spent about an hour or so with a plastic snow shovel and an ice scraper, picking away at the area around my car. It was incredibly cold outside – cold to the point that the snow shovel was a useless weight that I dragged from our apartment, down to the square.
I got fairly wet, and spent a lot of time on my knees trying to dig things out, or on my back or side, trying to pull crap out from under the car. I was lucky enough to get a hold of Ben (who was working from home), and he came out to give me a hand.
He brought along a hammer, which was a great tool for the job. Interestingly, I think en route he helped out two or three other folks who were trying to get their cars un-stuck. After trying to do some more digging, we waited for Liz to show and were able to push out the car together after some vigorous rocking.
Thanks, Ben, for the helping hand! And for the helping hammer!
