Friday Challenge: Put the Lotion in the (May) Basket

I’m not quite sure how or when it first began, but Fridays in the office mean one thing around 3 or 4PM: the weekly Friday Challenge. These pics/videos were taken a few days ago, last Friday.

Hosted by Chris, each week’s challenge tends to involve some random feat of coordination or skill. Today is the first day I took out my camera, and documented some of the fun.

Apparently part of the traditional May Day celebrations involves May Baskets: small baskets of sweets and/or flowers, usually left anonymously on neighbours’ doorsteps.

Well, the Friday Challenge sort of did the same thing. But combined the May Day theme with a Silence of the Lambs theme. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: the “Put the Lotion in the May Day Basket” Friday Challenge.

To play: each participant gets a post-it, with their name on it (drawn in the shape of a bottle of lotion). The goal is to stick your lotion as close as possible inside a printout of a basket.

Add four or five spins, and one blindfold Trade Joe’s bag… and we’re off to the races. This is Christine, getting ready to be spun around.

Justin S, who seems more than ready to take on the challenge.

Action shot of Ben getting spun around, as Renata and Chris watch on.

And finally, here’s the video I took when I participated. I had the camera in my hand recording, and wasn’t really able to see much of anything at all. Nice to see that I could walk in a straight line…

Unfortunately, I had to leave prior to the end of the challenge… and never found out who officially won. Little help?

  1. This was my favorite Friday challenge thus far, I think! Ben Lister took gold for the design team on this one – He may have been the only contestant to actually get it on the paper printout, too.

  2. Man, where do you work? I wanna work in a place where people understand, even if only for a few minutes, the value of play! As they say in Hawaii (where I used to live) “Lucky you work dat place!”
