Relaxing with Old Games
Lately, I’ve been revisiting games on my Mac as a way to decompress from all the moving and painting. I played Grid Wars 2 for like 40 minutes and I’ve started up (again) the fantastic Penny Arcade game On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One.
Robots, mimes, hobos and turn-based fighting, all set in the early 1900’s. Playing this again makes me realize how much I liked the game (I’ve bought and played the first two episodes). And now I’m impatient for the third episode to get released.
Last night Liz and I just watched movies while sprawled on the couch. I fell asleep during the end, and was groggy until I finally made it to bed afterwards. I feel like another day of resting is needed until I’m back at anything close to normal energy levels.
This weekend should be good: a half day at work today, and an open weekend to finish up all the work at the old apartment. I’m most looking forward to being done with the old place, and being able to concentrate on unpacking and re-arranging our new apartment more.
Unfortunately there isn’t going to be a 3rd , it was canceled. They plan on finishing up the story in book form though.info: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/26/penny-arcade-adventures-discontinued-there-wont-be-an-episode/
Anonymous (April 2, 2010 at 5:59 pm)This is sad news. Sure it wasn’t a genre-busting game, but I enjoyed both episodes a great deal (as evidenced by the fact that I’m replaying them now).Gah. Awesome that they want to finish off the story in book form, but it feels off-kilter. Like eating a hamburger with just one bun, it feels wrong.
