Thanksgiving in Merrillville

For Thanksgiving, Liz and I trekked to Merrillville to spend Thanksgiving at Tricia and Darryl’s house. Early in the morning, we woke up and began prepping some side dishes to take with us.

We did veggies: green beans, carrots with an orange/ginger sauce, and some garlic mashed potatoes. While the potatoes used a rather remarkable amount of butter, I have to tell you… the smell of melted butter, combined with about 12 clove of garlic, was pretty phenomenal.

At Tricia and Darryl’s house. Look at this gorgeous table!

Peek in to the kitchen, with the women doing some pre-meal prep.

Carving of the turkey. This thing was incredibly delicious, and incredibly moist. I barely had to use my knife when I was eating this. It’s been a while since I’ve had turkey this good (I’m drooling just thinking about it right now).

Paige and Audrey, who got their own little Thanksgiving table.

The aftermath, with Bob and Darryl done in by the fantastic meals. I would join them in sleepyland about an hour later, when we all settled in to watch a copy of How to Train Your Dragon. Towards the end of the movie, I woke up and was surprised to find out one of the characters lost a leg. I was pretty confused.
