Little Shop of Horrors
Over the weekend, Liz and I ended up watching the musical Little Shop of Horrors. I’m not overly in to musicals, but this is one of the few that I know and really like.
As I’ve mentioned before, I was in show choir in high school. I got to participate in one or two musicals (I think I was Man #3 in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. And I got tapped to play bass for our high school’s version of Little Shop.
It’s cheesy and shmaltzy, but I still love a lot of the songs. On watching this again, I’m amazed at how strong a voice Rick Moranis has (it’s actually pretty impressive).
Of course, one of the best moments is when Steve Martin appears. His appearance as Orin Scrivello, DDS, is just absolutely classic.
Bill Murray’s cameo is also pretty hysterical.
Random trivia: The original movie was made in 1960, was not a musical, and starred a really young Jack Nicholson. Crazy.
