Opening Presents in Frankfort
On waking up, one of the first things I started to do was mess around some more with the camera.
Downstairs, looking onto the fantastic dining room table setup.
Messing around with the macro settings.
Every started to arrive around 10:30, and we all sat down to a pretty fantastic meal (that’s my plate there, on the bottom left). L to R it’s Cameron, Paige, Savannah and Audrey.
Julie and Audrey, who looks a lot like Bono.
Audrey and Paige, about to open up gifts.
Katie helping Audrey open a gift.
L to R it’s Audrey, Paige, Tricia and Sebastian.
Savannah, playing with her jewelry box.
This is some video I shot with my fancy new camera. I’m working with a different aspect ratio, so I’m still unsure how I’m going to go about displaying video on the blog. The file sizes are HUGE, but the quality looks a ton better than my old camera.
Audrey’s looking like she might need a little dental work this year.
After the presents were all opened, we met up with the other Beeson relatives for the annual bowling fest at Frankfort Bowl.
Six lanes, though we were only using about 4 or 5 of them. We had the bowling area completely to ourselves, which was always a really neat feeling.
In case you missed it, a few of us got to sneak behind the scenes and check out the pin machines in action last year.
Folks milling around the tables and getting food/snacks.
Time to bowl! I was doing pretty terribly the entire time, and don’t think I broke 100. Thankfully, my wrist wasn’t acting up too much, so I can’t blame that.
When Liz and I compared scores, for the first round she ended up beating me by one point. After the second game, she also… beat me by one point. I’m not going to hear the end of this for a while.
She also got a turkey (three strikes in a row), which was pretty impressive. When I challenged her to a few rounds heads-up, I bowled one too… though it was just for fun, and not during an actual game. Bah. Next year.
Dan, who very quickly converted a serving bowl into his own personal dessert.
