DVD Binge: True Blood, Season 3
I can’t remember how, exactly, we started watching the show. Maybe we rented it from Blockbuster, ages ago. We have never had cable, so it must have been something along those lines. Liz rented a crapton of stuff, in preparation for her recuperation. I honestly can’t remember the last time either of us actually stepped foot in a Blockbuster. When I saw the DVD’s, my first question to her was: Is Blockbuster still open?
I’m in love with Netflix, and with how much I’m able to watch via Netflix Streaming. But when it comes to doing serious, hard core binging… it is nice to be able to rent a ton of DVD’s at once. It scratches an itch, but it does make me wonder how long Blockbuster’s going to linger around. They seem like they’re on life support as it is.
It was weird returning to Bon Temps, and meeting (again) all these characters. I’d wager it’s been something like 6-9 months, if not more, that we watched Season 2. It felt a bit like running into good friends from high school, and then going on a 3 day bender with them: an awful, awful lot of time spent around people you haven’t seen in a long, long time.
And now? The waiting. I’m guessing it’ll be another 6-9 months before Season 4 finishes, and it makes its way to DVD.
