The City of Samba: Tilt-Shift Video of the 2011 Rio Carnival
I’m not a huge tilt-shift fan, but this is a preface I tend to use every time I post up one of these videos. This one though, I found particularly exceptional.
Created by Keith Loutit and Jarbas Agnelli, the video captures a wide range of moments during the 2011 Rio Carnival.
The video is colorful, beautiful and so very mesmerizing. Part of the pleasure, I feel, is in seeing these large structures depicted as though they were small… but then your brain realizes how big they actually are. It’s this push/pull between the eyes and brain that makes watching this so enjoyable to me.
