Stormy Skies Over Chicago

As Liz and I were walking to work, we didn’t notice how strange the sky looked until we got to Logan/Milwaukee. We had been walking underneath the shading that runs along the boulevard, but when things opened up at Milwaukee… we noticed how odd the sky seemed.

This was the view, looking down Milwaukee towards downtown. We seemed to be right on the edge of a pretty powerful storm: super bright and sunny in some parts of the sky, and super ominous in others.

Had to step into the intersection to get this, but we both noticed something weird further down the way, almost hovering over downtown Chicago. From where we were standing, it almost looked like a funnel cloud. I’m sure this wasn’t the case, but whatever it was (a torrent of rain, perhaps?), it was happening downtown.

After we boarded the Blue Line, and we made our way aboveground briefly… it made for an interesting view, moving towards this large, gloomy mass of clouds.
