Finding Vivian Maier – Trailer

Living across the street from an auction house, John Maloof ended up purchasing a box full of negatives for $380. From there, he discovered the work of Vivian Maier and began trying to unravel who she was – her history, and her passion for photography.

I’m a fan of found photographs and every time I visit the flea market, I try to keep my eye out for boxes of photographs. There’s definitely an allure about trying to reconstruct a history, starting with a photograph and going backwards through the lens to find the person who controlled the shutter.

Found out about this from Aaron Wickenden, who’s editing the film. The trailer is awesome, and I’m definitely going to check this out when the film comes out!

You can view more of Maier’s work at her official website, and can learn more at the film website.
