Kickended: Randomized Kickstarter Projects That Failed to Raise Any Money Whatsoever
Kickended is a project that shows a random Kickstarter project that failed to raise any money. While there are many projects out there that fail to reach their funding goals, the ones listed on this site fail to even break the $1 mark.
There is a lot here that is both funny and heartbreaking at the same time. Looking over the descriptions, some of the projects lack focus or realistic goals. Other projects seem to be created by participants who themselves have backed zero projects. But in other cases, several projects have incredibly modest goals: $500, or even $100.
And yet, none of them raised any money at all.
While scanning the various projects, my mind kept fluctuating between “What were they thinking?” and “What happened?”
Why did these projects fail to raise any money? Couldn’t someone’s mother have just popped for $10? Did the project get abandoned and the URL never shared?
If you click on the “Random Campaign”link at the top of the website, you’ll be taken to a new project. In a lot of ways, it’s like a graveyard of dreams, a cemetery of hopes, a burial mound… you get the idea.
It’s oddly compelling, and I’ve lost a lot of time just sifting through these unfunded concepts. In a lot of ways, I feel like this site is a kindred spirit to my Underviewed project. Oh, but for a little more attention.
