Artist Michelle Erickson Recreates an 18th-Century Puzzle Jug

Artist Michelle Erickson recreates a very interesting piece called a “puzzle jug.” Filmed while Erickson was a Ceramics Resident: World Class Maker at the V&A (2012), this is a fascinating bit of video to watch.

Not only is the jug itself amazing (as it’s a functional puzzle), but the entire process that Erickson goes through is just captivating. I’d be delighted to just watch videos of Erickson at work, regardless of what she’s making. I’ve watched this video 3 times now, and am about to watch it again.

// Edit: The video was done by Juriaan Booij, who has a lot of work on Vimeo. In case you want a rabbit hole to go down – some great looking stuff there!
