The Muppets are Returning to TV

Happy to hear that the Muppets are going to be on TV again! This was a really fun trailer to watch, though as someone who grew up watching the Variety-show version (and also Muppets Tonight), I am cautiously excited.

This Vulture interview with Bill Prady makes me feel a little better. Still though – holding my breath.

The part where Piggy walks into a pane of glass? Cheap gag, but got a genuine LOL out of me. I’m a sucker for that kind of comedy.

The one weird thing I saw was the appearance of a narrator, albeit briefly, halfway through the trailer. The whole “… like you’ve never seen them before!” bit was just really odd. Everything else looks really fun, and a neat spin on the original cast.

With lines like “The band. They’re always happy. Legally, now,” this is most definitely a show geared for adults.

Besides Sherlock, there’s not really anything else on regular TV that we even care about. Will be interesting to see whether this gets me and Liz interested enough to tune in.

Who am I kidding? It’s the Muppets! Of course I’ll tune in.
