Joe Satriani: Satch Boogie

While Liz is away, I get into a bad habit. I end up drinking wine, and staying up late watching terrible old Heavy Metal videos from the 1980’s.

I’m going to spare you the truly obscure, weird stuff that pops up in my head when going down memory lane. There was a ton of hair metal I revisited, but I also found myself looking up specific guitarists that I was into at the time.

Here’s a song called “Satch Boogie,” by Joe Satriani. He’s played this countless times since it came out in the mid-80’s… but it blew me away when I first heard it, on his album “Surfing with the Alien.” Probably my favorite song from that album.

Even though it’s nearly 30 years since the song came out, I still find it impressive. It’s not the kind of music I listen to anymore, but Satriani is just mesmerizing to watch.
